I design interfaces, ads, and brand work.

For a year and a half I built mobile apps in React Native. The part I looked forward to was never the code, it was deciding how the screen should be laid out and what it should feel like to use. When I found out UX design was a job you could have, I stopped writing the apps and started designing them.

I never wanted to pick just one kind of design.

In the same week I am happy laying out a mobile app, art directing a product shot for an ad, and rearranging the spacing in an email template until it stops bothering me. The medium changes, the part I enjoy does not: taking something from roughly working to actually feeling right.

I studied Business Informatics at ASE Bucharest and spent a year and a half building React Native apps before moving into design. I still read and write code, which mostly means I know what a screen costs to build and I do not hand engineers something I cannot explain.

The opinion I hold most strongly is about restraint. I would rather cut something that looks impressive than ship something that wastes the time of the person using it, and I am wary of interfaces that perform for whoever is watching instead of getting out of the way.

Case study

TutorMatch, designed and built.

A mobile app that matches parents with vetted tutors through a short guided quiz instead of an endless list. I did the research, the UX, the UI and the component system, then built the prototype on the right so you can use it rather than take my word for it.

The problem

Parents find tutors in Facebook groups and through word of mouth, with no way to compare qualifications, price or fit for their specific child. It is slow, and it is hard to trust a stranger from a group chat.

My approach

A short guided quiz instead of a filter panel, a budget range the parent sets themselves, and profiles that answer the only question that matters first: why is this person a good match for my child?
